November 1915.  Graves in Shrapnel Gully cemetery, looking towards the Sap.  The men paid very great attention to this and the other cemeteries during the last few days of the occupation.  The soldier's cap has been placed over the grave in the foreground.

This is another photo I purchased from the Australian War Memorial in the 1980s.  I can read some of the names on
the original. [6" x 8 1/2"]  See details below.

Additional information from other sources has been added,
such as burial place and grave/memorial numbers.
Even though their names appear in the photo, all of those
listed are not buried or memorialised at Shrapnel Gully
[Valley] Cemetery.

*These soldiers' graves are in the same row as Norman's (Plot 1, Row C).  I didn't know this when I bought the     photo.  A strange coincidence!  Leads me to believe (perhaps incorrectly) that Norman's original grave is close   by or maybe in the photo as there are many markers on which the writing isn't legible.
