Part of Shrapnel Valley Cemetery:  If you look hard, you'll see me (Coral) down the hill standing in front of Norman's grave - left of centre wearing a yellow shirt.  You can see how barren the area is.  A bush fire had raged through the area a few years before 1995 and the fire fighters had to chop down the trees in an effort to stop the fire.  To view a map of Shrapnel Valley Cemetery - Click Here
It was very hot on the day we visited Norman's grave.  Peter's foot is pointing to Norman's headstone.  We were the first family members to visit, others have since made the trip.  We had a personal guide and driver so could take our time.  Very inexpensive but a lousy driver who was falling asleep at the wheel on our return to Istanbul. Must have been our stimulating company... only the guide spoke English.  A three day trip, very picturesque drive - beautiful countryside.  There weren't many people around at the cemetery (May, 1995).  We saw one bus which stopped at the cemetery for about 5 minutes.
