Norman's grave location is Plot 1, Row C, Grave 11. Norman's grave is actually seventh from the beginning of the row. The cluster of 4 headstones to the left (and in front) of Norman are in row C, hence Norman's grave number is 11. I don't know why some headstones are in groups. If you know the reason for this, please contact me. The details of the soldiers on either side of Norman are as follows:
Grave 10: SPURR, Private, ARTHUR WILLIAM, 617. 4th Bn. Australian Infantry, A.I.F. Killed in action 22nd July 1915. Age 24. Son of Hartley and Rachel Spurr, of 753, Hunter St., Newcastle, New South Wales. (Australia)
Grave 12: LEVENE, Private, ABRAHAM, 708. 4th Bn. Australian Infantry, A.I.F. Killed in action 23rd July 1915. Age 20. Served as CONROY. Son of Samuel and Janey Levene, of 32, Uppingham Terrace, Waterway St., Nottingham, England. Native of Russia. |
