To my amazement, he (Bryn Dolan) knew where I could obtain a photo that he'd seen of Norman in a library in London when doing research.  He'd recorded the name of the paper, date and page number.  Thanks to Bryn, I now have a photo.  This led to the creation of this site.  Click here to see the newspaper photo of Norman plus other information received from Bryn about Norman's death.

The reason for not remembering Anzac Day is that I was living in USA at the time. However, I wrote the creator of the Leaders of Anzacs site (which is outstanding) and mentioned my great uncle and the fact that there was no known photo of him in existence.
Norman Henry Sohier
This site is dedicated to the Memory of Norman Henry Sohier, my great uncle, who was killed in action during World War 1 (WWI) at Gallipoli, Turkey on July 13, 1915. He was 19 years of age.
I had been searching many years for a photo of Norman.  A few relatives had seen one a long time ago which has since been lost.
On Anzac Day, 25th April, 2000, I was visiting a web site about Gallipoli titled 'Leaders of Anzacs'.  I hadn't realised it was Anzac Day until later.  Anzac Day is Australia's Memorial Day on which we remember our Servicemen and Women who died or served in war.
